Series 6
Series 6 profiles are generally based on 30mm core dimensions, with a 6mm slot that allows a maximum slot nut thread of M6, these profiles are used for larger applications such as furniture, table top frames and enclosures. There are a growing variety of other profiles in this series including new flat finish profiles. Again, the system has it's own extensive range of ancillary parts such as hinges, handles, slot nuts and connectors. Because the aluminium extrusion slot is 6mm, the maximum thread size you can use with this aluminium profile system is M6. Stronger that the series 5 aluminium extrusions, it can be used in more rigorous environments but for heavy duty applications we recommend the series 8 aluminium profiles.

Series 6 Aluminium Profiles – Strong, Versatile T-Slot Extrusions
Series 6 aluminium profiles are engineered for structural reliability and modular flexibility, making them a popular choice across industrial, commercial, and custom fabrication projects. Based on 30mm core dimensions, these aluminium extrusion profiles provide a robust yet lightweight solution for building frames, enclosures, furniture, and workstations.
With a 6mm T-slot design, Series 6 aluminium profiles support M6 slot nuts and fasteners, offering secure connections while maintaining ease of assembly. This balance of strength and adaptability positions Series 6 extrusions between lighter systems and heavy-duty aluminium profile ranges.
Designed for Larger and More Demanding Applications
Unlike smaller aluminium extrusion systems, Series 6 profiles are specifically suited to medium-to-large builds where increased rigidity is required. Common applications include table frames, machine guards, workstation frameworks, display units, and protective enclosures.
The larger cross-section of Series 6 aluminium extrusions improves load handling and stability, making them ideal for environments that demand durability without unnecessary weight. This makes them particularly attractive for modular designs where strength and reusability are essential.
6mm T-Slot System with M6 Compatibility
A defining feature of Series 6 aluminium profiles is the 6mm T-slot, which determines the system’s fixing compatibility. This slot size allows the use of M6 slot nuts, bolts, and threaded connectors, ensuring strong mechanical joints throughout the structure.
The M6 fixing system offers an excellent balance between load capacity and ease of adjustment, allowing users to assemble, modify, and expand aluminium frame systems quickly. Because the aluminium extrusion slot is 6mm, M6 is the maximum thread size supported, ensuring consistent performance across the entire Series 6 range.
Extensive Range of Ancillary Components
Series 6 aluminium profiles are supported by a comprehensive ecosystem of ancillary parts, enabling fully integrated frame construction without the need for custom fabrication. Available accessories include hinges, handles, connectors, joining plates, end caps, adjustable feet, and a wide selection of slot nuts.
These aluminium extrusion accessories are specifically designed to work seamlessly with Series 6 profiles, ensuring precise fitment and long-term structural reliability. The availability of purpose-made components makes Series 6 an ideal modular aluminium profile system for professional and DIY projects alike.
Flat Finish and Expanded Profile Options
The Series 6 aluminium profile range continues to grow, with new profile designs and flat finish options now available. Flat profiles offer clean aesthetics for visible installations such as furniture frames, retail displays, and architectural applications.
This expanding range allows designers and engineers to maintain consistency across different projects while choosing profiles that best suit functional or visual requirements. Whether the focus is strength, appearance, or space efficiency, Series 6 aluminium extrusions provide flexible design options.
Stronger Than Series 5 Aluminium Profiles
Compared to Series 5 aluminium extrusions, Series 6 profiles deliver increased strength and rigidity due to their larger dimensions and enhanced cross-section. This makes them better suited to more rigorous environments where additional structural integrity is required.
For applications that exceed the performance limits of lighter aluminium profile systems, Series 6 provides a dependable upgrade without the added bulk of heavy-duty extrusion systems.
When to Choose Series 8 Instead
While Series 6 aluminium profiles are suitable for demanding applications, extremely heavy-duty or high-load environments may require Series 8 aluminium profiles. Series 8 systems offer even greater strength and are recommended where maximum load capacity or vibration resistance is essential.
For most medium-to-large framework applications, however, Series 6 aluminium extrusion profiles deliver an excellent balance of performance, cost efficiency, and modular flexibility.
Ideal Uses for Series 6 Aluminium Extrusion Systems
Series 6 aluminium profiles are widely used across industries due to their versatility and strength. Typical uses include furniture frames, workbenches, machine enclosures, safety guarding, test rigs, display systems, and bespoke structural assemblies.
Their modular nature allows projects to evolve over time, making Series 6 aluminium extrusions a future-proof solution for scalable designs.
A Reliable Modular Aluminium Profile System
Series 6 aluminium profiles combine strength, adaptability, and a broad accessory range to create a reliable modular aluminium extrusion system. Designed for efficient assembly and long-term performance, they are a proven solution for professional frame construction where durability and flexibility matter.
Whether you are building industrial enclosures, structural frames, or custom furniture, Series 6 aluminium extrusion profiles provide the performance and compatibility required for high-quality results.
